| Summer has arrived in South FL, marking the end of our cool weather vegetable season and ushering in the season where tropical, heat and humidity-tolerant crops flourish. This is the perfect time to plant a variety of tropical fruit trees, and our nursery is well stocked with an exciting selection of both the most popular and the rarest species. We will also have heat-tolerant veggies, culinary and aromatic herbs, native butterfly plants and essential gardening supplies like soil mix, composted mulch, and organic fertilizers to help edible landscapes thrive. While Ready-to-Grow primarily has the mission of growing plants to feed people, we also find it valuable to feed other creatures we share the planet with.
As South Florida continues to grow, we sadly witness the destruction of natural habitats, while once thriving ecosystems are turned into a combination of concrete, asphalt, and lawns that demand excessive watering and chemical treatments.
By embracing plants that have evolved in our environment over centuries, we can help to recreate pockets of a more balanced ecosystem right in our yards!
Native/butterfly plants can be picked up at our nursery on:
Tuesday 1 pm – 6 pm
Thursday 1 pm – 6 pm
Saturday 10 am – 3 pm
Sunday 10 am – 3 pm
We are located at 4590 SW 122nd Ave, 33175) in Miami’s Horse Country area. We can also deliver for a $100-$125 fee in Miami-Dade, or $150-$175 in Broward.
We also offer planting and care services in Miami and South Florida for those that would like additional help.
